Who Are We?
Shannen Fields Braswell is an award-winning actress, producer, content creator and inspirational speaker who coaches and mentors women on their faith journey. Anthony Braswell is a pastor, inspirational speaker, content creator and leadership coach. We lost our late spouses to terminal illnesses within 8 weeks of each other. We both made the decision to heal forward and make each day count. As we took those steps, God allowed our paths to cross and our new friendship quickly turned into our very own miraculous love story. Together, we have been married a combined 55 years and have used that experience to create Uncover Marriage. We love to share our story and equip couples to experience the marriage of their dreams!

The American church has done a phenomenal job of preaching to the masses. But somewhere along the way, we skipped the part Jesus emphasized the most: “Discipleship through Relationship.”
We are asking couples to fix their marriages with nothing more than a flashlight. They see there is a problem. Maybe it’s a breakdown in communication, a lack of intimacy, struggles with pornography or isolation. There’s just no one close enough to hand them the tools.
Our preaching has always been solid. Our music is second to none. However, there are very few people saying, “I’ve been there, let’s walk through this together.”
We’ve created services that look great from the stage, but behind the scenes, marriages are quietly crumbling. We may ask, “How are you? You guys, okay?” But, we never get close enough to see that they’re actually hanging by a thread.
Couples aren’t just struggling because of a lack of knowledge, they are struggling because they lack models of what healthy marriages look like. They lack someone to walk into the mess with them. They lack someone to show them how to rebuild and restore hope.

Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” That’s exactly what Jesus did. He didn’t make it easy for himself by avoiding people’s troubles, but waded right in and helped out.
